In Partnership with Lifescan Scotland
What is Involved?
The main aim of all skills for work courses is to teach and develop employability skills in our students so that they can get and keep a job when they finish their education. Timekeeping, the ability to organise yourself, being able to plan ahead, looking after tools, materials and equipment, beign able to work independently and beign able to contribute to the work of a group are all skills which are needed in every job. However, these skills need to be taught and practiced.
During the course of the year we visit the manufacturing facilities at Lifescan in Inverness to see what it is like to work in an engineering envirionment. Lifescan Engineers also visit the school to discuss their working life, career paths and explain how the different units of study in the course are applied in the real world.
