New Graphic Communication Courses
The Graphic Communication course has changed drastically, however, we feel it is now a much more fun, enjoyable and beneficial course. Students have even said the same! The drawing board work has been removed and has been replaced with much more CAD and sketching work. This enables pupils to develop skills relevant to industry/design and allows them to improve on these skills throughout the year as opposed to spending the majority of their time sitting at a drawing board.
The new course is made up of a number of coursework tasks undertaken throughout the year - which must be passed in order to sit the final exam - followed by a 'Course Assessment Task' (CAT) which counts for 50% of the final grade. The remaining 50% comes from an external SQA exam - past papers and specimen papers for these exams can be found below.
